Princeville - Robert C. "Bob" Brown, 79, of Princeville, formerly of Shabbona, peacefully passed away at 10:11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family.Born on January 24, 1944, in Sterling, he was the son of the late Gerald and Juanita (McDonald) Brown. On August 23, 1969, he married Mary Piatkowski in Streator; she survives.Also surviving are a son, Robert C. (Michele) Brown, Jr.; grandson, Clark Brown; sister, Donna (Larry) Oncken; brother, Gerald Brown; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Sandy Marshall.Robert was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, working as a radio operator. He served from 1962 to 1966 and was deployed to Vietnam. He was later employed as an audio-visual engineer at Northern Illinois University for 33 years, retiring in 1999.
